The 2015 Information Architecture Summit was held in Minneapolis, but there was a heavy Seattle presence. Attendees included Information Architects from Avvo, Amazon, REI, Frog, Portent, Microsoft, who were joined by Factor’s Rachel Price, Sarah Barrett and Bram Wessel. Rachel and Bram hosted a dinner for first-time attendees and Sarah and Bram were invited to speak.
On Friday, April 24, Sarah Barrett presented her talk “IA in a Complex Business Context,” where she described techniques IA’s can use to help clients better understand Information Architecture deliverables, which leads to more effective and meaningful project outcomes.
On Saturday, April 25, Bram delivered his presentation: “Atomizer – Microcontent and the Future of IA”, in which he outlined how the discipline of information architecture must adapt to meet coming challenges in enterprise content management initiated by new digital experiences that span multiple contexts.
The Information Architecture Summit is the world’s most prestigious gathering of information architects, user experience designers, content strategists, and all those who work to create and manage information spaces. Bram Wessel has agreed to co-facilitate the Information Architecture Institute’s third Introductory Workshop at IAS16 in Atlanta Georgia, in May, 2016.
IAS15 was an honor and a pleasure for Factor to be part of, and we’re looking forward to making an even bigger contribution to IAS16. See you next May in Atlanta!
